I snapped this picture of the Red Dog Saloon in Juneau, Alaksa in mid June
2007. At the time I noted "now mainly catering for tourists, but
made up to look like an authentic wild-west saloon." - but reading their
website now, I see that was actually a long-standing establishment:
Originating during the heyday of Juneau’s glorious mining era, some old timers tell us the Red Dog Saloon used to be just a tent on the beach. Originally located about 2 blocks up Franklin street, ... later across the street next to the Alaskan Hotel. New owners in the early 1970s continued to grow a priceless collection of furs, guns and antiques. In 1988 the saloon was moved to this site [278 S. Franklin Street, Juneau AK, 99801], and great care was given to replacing most everything to its original place within the room.

pubs didn't usually have in 2007!
