This historic building in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada was photographed in July 2007. It was originally built as a school, which eventually became the first school in Canada to offer free education. Because of this, it's regarded as the First National School and has protected Heritage site status. After the school moved, it was used as an art-college, a mortuary, a warehouse, and a restaurant - which is allegedly haunted. I took the picture because of the juxtaposition between the interesting historic restaurant and the bland modern office block next door.
