Galway has a Phantom Bus Stop, so beloved that it even has a tourist-attraction listing on Google Maps, with 17+ reviews.
The shelter in this photo, pictured in early October 2025, is nothing like as famous. The grass is trimmed regularly and it even sports a Tesco ad. Thousands of people drive past each day. But it's as phantom-esque as its cousin in Roshill. No bus route has served this road for years. Even if there was a bus, it would be a dangerous road to stop on. You could say it's lonely in plain sight.
